THE LOOK by Michelle Obama Coming in November

by | Jun 10, 2025 | News

Crown Publishing Group has announced the upcoming release of THE LOOK, a new book by former First Lady Michelle Obama, set to hit shelves on November 4, 2025.

The book will be available in hardcover and eBook editions from Crown, with an audiobook version, narrated by Obama herself, published simultaneously by Penguin Random House Audio.

Richly illustrated with more than 200 photographs, many never seen before, THE LOOK offers an intimate, first-person narrative of Michelle Obama’s evolving style. It traces her fashion journey from the early days of her husband’s U.S. Senate campaign, through her historic tenure as the first Black First Lady, to her current role as a cultural icon and advocate. With warmth and candor, she reflects on how fashion has served not just as personal expression, but as a strategic tool for storytelling, visibility, and empowerment.

The book also includes contributions from key figures in her style team, including longtime stylist Meredith Koop, makeup artist Carl Ray, hairstylists Yene Damtew and Njeri Radway, and several designers who have dressed her for milestone moments. Together, they offer a behind-the-scenes look at the thoughtful planning and creativity behind Obama’s most memorable appearances, and what those choices meant on a deeper level.

Through personal stories and style reflections, Obama charts how her fashion has shifted over the years, from classic cardigans and signature brooches to bold suits, sleek denim, and natural braids, highlighting how each phase mirrored her growth and evolving identity.

Ultimately, THE LOOK is more than a chronicle of style. It’s a celebration of how fashion, when wielded with purpose, can reflect values, build connection, and affirm one’s place in the world, with confidence, dignity, and joy.
