The Swedish platform for audiobooks, Storytel, has launched in the UAE. The company has more than 500,000 subscribers across 10 countries and the UAE will be the 11th country that will be using its streaming services to unlimited audiobooks of all kinds through an App installed on their mobile phone.

Storytel is the first audiobook subscription service launching with a focus on both Arabic and English languages in the UAE, and will be available to users in all Arabic speaking regions.

Since its establishment in 2005 by Jonas Tellander and Jon Hauksson, Storytel has established itself as one the leading international platforms of audio audiobooks. For UAE subscribers, Storytel offers an attractive subscription fee of $9.99 per month, with a free 14-day trial and a library of thousands of audiobooks in Arabic and English languages.

More information is available on their website, https://www.storytel.ae/.

Storytel has encouraged publishers in the UAE and other Arab to engage with the company and have their titles converted to audiobooks on Storytel’s platform. They also noted that it will provide audiobook recording, contracting and publishing services to publishers in the region free of cost.
