Lebanese publisher, Hachette Antoine, announced that it has acquired the rights of publishing the Arabic version of Michelle Obama’s memoir Becoming from publisher Penguin Random House. The book will be translated simultaneously in 24 languages, and is set for a worldwide release in November.

This book deal is one of the most prestigious for a Lebanese publisher in recent years. It also reflects a new approach embraced by Hachette Antoine, which focus on enriching their reading list with international political memoirs.

The former first lady’s book is expected to generate good sales immediately after its first release in Lebanon and then in other Arab countries.

Michelle Obama’s book, which will appear in print and digital formats, chronicles her life from a childhood growing up on Chicago’s South Side through her years inside the White House, as well the numerous challenges faced by her husband, former US president Barack Obama before and during his term in office.
