Sfax Children’s Book Fair Features 45 Publishing Houses

45 Arab and international publishing houses participated in the 25th edition of the Sfax Children’s Book Fair in Tunis, Tunisia, which ran from 15-24 March 2018. The publishers showcased their latest children’s and young adults’ books and magazines to visitors to the most significant children’s book fair in North Africa.

The fair was held in cooperation with many Tunisian departments, including the Ministry of Culture, Commissary for Culture, Regional Commissary for Education of Sfax, and Tunisia Board on Books for Young People. The event featured an array of activities such as ‘The Open Competition for Dictation’, which saw the participation of more than 600 students from all of Sfax schools.

The activities also featured a scientific panel on ‘Differently-abled People and Children’s Books’, and a study day on ‘Modern Educational Values in Children’s Literature’, as well as meetings with many Arab authors and illustrators, such as Rose Shoumali from Palestine, Mohammed Jamal Omar from Jordan, Fadel Al Kaabi from Iraq and Ahmed Al Abbasi from Egypt.
