S&S Acquires Bob Woodward’s War

by | Aug 19, 2024 | News

Simon & Schuster US has acquired world rights to the new book from veteran political journalist Bob Woodward.  Entitled War, it will explore President Biden’s approach to both the war in the Ukraine and the war between the US and Hamas.

S&S CEO Jonathan Karp bought the title directly from Robert Barnett of Williams & Connolly LLP. It will be published on 15th October 2024.

Karp said: “[Bob Woodward’s] work on the power of the presidency is unrivalled. With War, Woodward illustrates the dramatic contrasts between Donald Trump and his opponents for the presidency – Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, making this a must-read before heading to the polls.”

Woodward is an associate editor at the Washington Post where he has worked for more than 50 years. He has shared in two Pulitzer Prizes, one for his Watergate coverage in the Seventies and the other for coverage of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.  His 2020 book Rage: Trump in the White House, also published by S&S, did not endear him to the then president.
