The K-Book Copyright Market 2025 has officially kicked off in Seoul and will continue through June 18 at Lotte Hotel World in Songpa-gu District. The event brings together 100 publishing companies from 30 countries for three days of copyright negotiations, business meetings, and global exchange. It is jointly organized by South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea.
Since its launch in 2018, the annual K-Book Copyright Market has grown into a key platform for expanding Korean book exports and strengthening global publishing partnerships. This year’s edition sees the participation of publishers and agencies from Asia (including Japan, Taiwan, and Malaysia), Europe (Germany, the United Kingdom, and Italy), and the Americas (the United States and Mexico).
Major global players such as HarperCollins and Penguin Random House (U.S.), Tuttle-Mori Agency (Japan), and Nanmeebooks (Thailand) are scheduled to conduct export consultations with 100 Korean publishers, including Dasan Books, Wisdom House, Book Mentor, and Gilbut Kid. This year’s negotiations have broadened beyond literature and children’s picture books to encompass nonfiction, comics, and digital publishing.
Alongside the copyright consultations, the program features investment sessions, seminars, and networking events that open the door for wider collaboration across industries such as broadcasting, OTT services, content creation, and digital platforms.
