Beijing Book Fair Expands Reach with 15 New Debuting Countries

by | Jun 13, 2024 | News

The 2024 Beijing International Book Fair is set to open on June 19 and will run until June 24. This year, 15 new countries and regions will be making their debut at the fair, including Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, Nigeria, Norway, Slovakia, and Qatar.

Organizers expect around 1,600 exhibitors, with 1,050 of them coming from 71 international markets. If these numbers are met, it will represent a 17% increase in participation. The event will feature 11 “international pavilions,” which refer to collective stands representing different national markets, previously reported to be 25 in number.

This year’s fair will include major publishers such as Wiley, Cengage, Taylor & Francis, Elsevier, Oxford, Cambridge, SpringerNature, Sage, World Scientific, Brill, and De Gruyter.

In addition, several university presses are set to participate, including Princeton University Press, Harvard University Press, University of Toronto Press, Melbourne University Publishing, Bristol University Press, and ACC Science Publishing from Singapore.

The 2024 edition of the Beijing International Book Fair promises to be a significant event, with increased global participation and a strong focus on academic publishing and educational technology.
