The world’s first horse-themed book fair, the Dubai International Equestrian Book Fair, has been launched in the UAE, with the participation of 30 local and international publishing houses. The inaugural edition of the event was organised by the Royal Equestrian Club and held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance.
Aimed at fostering reading among sports circles interested in equestrianism and promoting horse-related activities through books and reading material, the Dubai International Equestrian Book Fair has been established to enhance the role of local, Arab and international publishing houses in publishing more titles on equestrianism, horse-riding and horse racing.
The Dubai International Equestrian Book Fair garnered impressive attention from fans of equestrian sports in the UAE and the wider GCC, as well as from representatives of publishing houses who praised the idea of fair’s free-of-charge participation – an initiative from the organisers to support horse-related activities in the region.
