Sharjah Rights Connection Award: Nominate Until August

Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) has proudly announced the commencement of the second edition of the esteemed Sharjah Rights Connection Award, recognizing the invaluable contributions of rights professionals who fuel the dynamic global publishing industry. Through their relentless efforts, these visionaries promote diversity, empower authors, and connect readers worldwide with a rich literary tapestry.

The Sharjah Rights Connection Award is thoughtfully designed to bolster the growth of the industry by providing support and recognition to rights professionals. This global accolade is presented in two distinct categories: the first to commend professionals working with publishing companies, skillfully selling translation rights; and the second to honor those working independently or with agencies, effectively securing translation rights for multiple clients.

The race for the coveted award has already commenced and is set to culminate on August 31, 2023. The winners of this prestigious accolade will be unveiled during the highly anticipated 2023 Publishers Conference.

Global rights professionals eager to embrace this opportunity can submit their applications promptly at https://sibf.com/en/content?id=10388. The Sharjah Rights Connection Award welcomes professionals from major publishing hubs such as the US, UK, Asia, and Germany, while also actively encouraging applications from emerging markets across Eastern Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and beyond.

This year’s edition offers both rights professionals and their companies an avenue for recognition. Individuals may nominate themselves or be nominated by their respective companies to vie for the esteemed Sharjah Rights Connection Award, competing for honor in either of the two distinguished categories.

English submissions, consisting of two compelling 500-word testimonials from their esteemed clients, will pave the way for contenders to present their remarkable achievements. Prospective awardees are encouraged to illustrate their strides in the previous year, successful deals clinched, groundbreaking innovations, fruitful partnerships, and other milestones, accompanied by relevant images—limiting the submission to a concise 1,000 words. The award committee will only consider individual applications; team submissions will not be accepted.
