Cairo-based publishing house Al Kotob Khan has announced the release of a new series. Titled ‘Without Shores,’ the imprint features books that publishers have difficulty classifying.
The inaugural two books in Al Kotob Khan’s series are being launched this month (August), with the first titled ‘Food for Coptic’ by Charles Aql. It deals with the secrets and history of Coptic cuisine, discussing the traditions of Egyptian Copts in preparing their favourite dishes for religious and national events.
The second book, which is titled ‘Offside’ and written by Mohamed El Fouli, reveals football stories from around the world; from the Third Division in Argentina to Brazil’s Jungle Cup. It describes the magic of African football and the paradoxes of the ‘beautiful game’ in Egypt. The book also contains humorous anecdotes about famous football players from over the years.
