A New York Times Bestselling Author Joins Brown Books

“Michael Sampson Books” launched by Brown Books Publishing Group

The Brown Books Publishing Group (BBPG) announces the launch of its new imprint Michael Sampson Books in Fall 2023. Michael Sampson, New York Times bestselling author and former Fulbright Scholar, will be the name of the imprint, which will publish and promote young readers’ literature.

The imprint’s editorial acquisitions director will be Thomas Reale, President & COO of BBPG. In addition to reviewing incoming manuscripts, Sampson will assist with promoting authors and their publications.

The founder and CEO of BBPG, Milli Brown, reflected on the launch in the context of the company’s history, saying “Given our evolution over three decades, we feel this partnership signals a new phase for our growth and development.” Submissions may be submitted to the publisher by literary agents or by authors themselves, in accordance with company policy.

Sampson’s work with children’s literacy will be extended through a series of picture and middle grade books from Michael Sampson Books. A total of ten books will be published in 12 months, beginning with “Alithia Ramirez Was an Artist” by award-winning author and illustrator Violet Lemay.
