Schwarzenegger’s 12 Steps to a Better Life

by | Sep 24, 2026 | News

Actor, businessman and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has announced a new book, Better Every Day: An Action Plan for a Full Life, to be published by Penguin Press on January 12, 2027. The title follows his 2023 bestseller, Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life. Schwarzenegger first shared news of the project with subscribers to his Pump Club newsletter, while the book is now available for preorder.

Designed as a practical guide to continual growth, the book aims to help readers regain balance, deepen their sense of purpose and move forward through concrete action. Schwarzenegger organises the journey around 12 building blocks that can be followed over a year or adapted to each reader’s pace, beginning with small steps and momentum before moving into habits, identity, willpower, resilience, community and meaning.

Drawing on lessons from his career across sport, entertainment, business, politics and philanthropy, Schwarzenegger turns personal experience into weekly actions readers can apply to their own lives. While Be Useful set out his broader philosophy, Better Every Day is positioned as its practical companion, built on the idea that lasting progress does not begin with perfection, but with action, consistency and the decision to improve one day at a time.
