Swiss e-book company PocketBook has unveiled its latest ‘phone sized’ e-book reader PocketBook Q.

The company says: “The new PocketBook Q combines a slim, smartphone-sized form factor with all the essential features for comfortable reading on the go. Its 5.84-inch E Ink Carta™ 1300 display has a resolution of 788 × 1,576 pixels and a pixel density of 300 dpi, ensuring crisp, easy-to-read text.

“Side-mounted page-turn buttons make the device comfortable to use with one hand. With SMARTlight, users can also adjust the brightness and color temperature of the frontlight to suit their preferences and lighting conditions.

“The PocketBook Q is IPX4-rated for splash resistance, providing added protection when reading on the go.

The device also offers a variety of audio features. In addition to e-books, it supports audiobooks and other audio formats. Users can connect wireless headphones or speakers via Bluetooth, while the built-in Text-to-Speech feature can read text content aloud, making it easy to switch between reading and listening.

“Like other PocketBook devices, the PocketBook Q is based on an open ecosystem. It supports a wide range of e-book formats without requiring file conversion and is compatible with both Adobe DRM and LCP DRM.

“The PocketBook x Libby app by OverDrive comes preinstalled, giving users convenient access to digital content from participating public libraries.

“PocketBook Cloud and the PocketBook Reader app also make it possible to sync books, reading progress, and bookmarks across compatible devices.”

The key question though, remains: how many devices do we want to carry with us?
