Frankfurt Book Fair Celebrating 70 Years of Global Leadership

by | Oct 15, 2018 | Articles and Reports, News

The Frankfurt International Book Fair will celebrate its 70th anniversary from 10 to 14 October 2018 with the participation of 9800 media professional. With the number of exhibitors this year reaching about 7,000 from 105 countries with 9800 participants, the Fair ranked as the publishing industry’s largest and most important book fairs in the world.

The program has about 3,700 events over five days, a large figure that may go beyond the limits of logic, but it remains reasonable from the organizers’ perspective. Many of these events are to be held simultaneously to suit different interests and draw focus on multiple topics that attract participants and visitors.

This year’s edition hosts the State of Georgia, which is strategically positioned at the Eastern European junction with West Asia, a location that should be used to link these two continents at all cultural levels. In this connection, an event was held to highlight many Georgian cultural-related issues and to introduce most prominent Georgian authors and works. Facilities were also provided to Georgian publishing houses.
