Egyptian Publishers Association Goes on IPR Drive

by | Jul 25, 2017 | News

In line with the directives of Egypt’s Ministry of Culture, the Egyptian Publishers Association called on its members to approach the National Library and Archives to get deposition numbers for their new publications. This is a step towards strengthening efforts to protect the intellectual property rights of publishers’ works, and have them archived in the library for future generations.

Under the new amendments to resolution No. 363 of 2017 on regulating deposition of books in the National Library, Egyptian publishers should deliver 10 copies of each written or printed publications, including works classified under the genre of art, photography, maps and audio works.

The National Library asked publishers to deposit their publications within a period of no more than three months from the date of obtaining the deposition number, and provide it with an electronic copy of each publication. Each publisher will be given a maximum of 10 deposition numbers per day.
