Book Sales at Kuwait International Book Fair Reach USD 6.55 Million

The National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) in Kuwait has announced that books sales at the 41st edition of the Kuwait International Book Fair, which ran from November 18-26 at Kuwait International Fairground, exceeded KWD 2 million (USD 6.55 million / AED 24 million).

This year’s edition of the fair attracted more than 300,000 visitors, with 25,000 students from 695 private, public and special needs schools attending. The number of books registered at the fair’s database amounted to 155,258 titles.

Thirty countries participated in the fair; comprising 16 Arab and 14 non-Arab countries. A total of 565 publishing houses (503 private and 62 government organisations) exhibited; 346 publishing houses participating directly and 219 taking part via accreditation.
