The Palestinian National Library hosted the 11th Palestinian International Book Fair, under the theme “Palestine is the Homeland and Jerusalem is the Capital” with the participation of some 500 publishing houses either directly or through representatives.
Held from 3-13 May 2018 in an area covering 5,000 sqmt, the fair attracted visitors, government and educational institutions, and children who had a special kids’ corner. It offers visitors many cultural events such as seminars, poetry reading and book signing sessions. Among key participants were Algerian novelist Waciny Laredj, Iraqi poet Munim Al Faqir, Syrian poet Nouri al-Jarrah, and Syrian writer Khalil Al Nuaimi. The fair also witnessed the launch of the Palestine Mobile Film Festival and hosted the awards ceremony of the Palestine Cultural Forum.
