Al Qassim Book Fair Receives Half Million Visitors

by | Mar 14, 2018 | News

The first edition of Al Qassim Book Fair, which was held at the King Khalid Cultural Centre in Buraydah city in Saudi Arabia’s central region, has attracted nearly half a million visitors in its first six days. Visitors have purchased over 700,000 books valued at over 25 million Saudi Riyals, registering the kind of success that has exceeded expectations.

Several publishers and publishing experts have participated in the book fair, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. Saudi Publishers Association and the National Distribution Company have expressed their delight over the overwhelming visitor turnout.

Participants have expressed that the resounding response encourages them to have bigger stands in the second edition of the fair, which is scheduled to take place in February 2019, especially given the fact that the organisers plan to expand and develop the fair’s location.
