5th Edition of Sharjah Booksellers Conference Announced

Sharjah Book Authority has announced the organisation of the fifth edition of the Sharjah Booksellers Conference, set to take place on Saturday and Sunday, 2–3 May 2026, at Expo Centre Sharjah, under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority. The conference reflects the Authority’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the book industry ecosystem, enhancing distribution channels, and expanding professional collaboration among industry stakeholders at both regional and international levels, underscoring Sharjah’s standing as a global hub for publishing and knowledge.

 

The conference programme will feature keynote speakers, specialised panel discussions, interactive workshops, and short presentations, designed to encourage knowledge exchange and address the latest trends and challenges shaping the bookselling sector. The event offers a dynamic professional platform focused on innovation, business model development, and the creation of sustainable partnerships that support the long-term growth and resilience of the book industry.

 

The Authority has invited professionals interested in participating to register via bookseller.ae no later than Monday, 2 March 2026, with successful applicants to be notified on 16 March 2026. Accepted participants will receive a hospitality package that includes an economy-class flight and three nights’ accommodation in Sharjah. The conference also provides publishers and book industry suppliers with the opportunity to book exhibition booths and dedicated pitch spaces, creating tangible business opportunities and facilitating direct professional networking.
