The Royal Swedish Academy has awarded the 2023 Nobel Prize in Literature to the accomplished Norwegian author, Jon Fosse, whose literary contributions have left an indelible mark on the world of letters.

 

Jon Fosse, born on September 29, 1959, in the coastal town of Haugesund, Norway, has carved out a remarkable literary career spanning decades. This financial endowment stems from the generous bequest left by the prize’s founder, Swedish inventor Alfred Nobel, who passed away in 1895.
