UAE Champion in Arab Reading Challenge Celebrates “Diversity”

As part of the 38th edition of Sharjah International Book Fair “SIBF”, young visitors met the UAE Champion in Arab Reading Challenge, Miznah Najib (10 years), during an interactive reading session with the writer and author Sheikha Mariam bint Saqr Al Qasimi, the winner of Sharjah Children’s Book Award 2018 for young people for her book titled “Where the Letters Disappeared”.

 

Sheikha Mariam Al Qasimi and Child Mezna Najib narrated the story of “Diversity”, the latest publication of Sheikha Mariam Al Qasimi, which highlights and celebrates the value of diversity. The story was written in a narrative style that touches imagination of young people, and was provided with a set of images and illustrations that captivate child’s imagination.

 

After finishing the story, Mezna Najib spoke about importance of reading and its role in promoting human thought and awareness, calling on her friends to adhere to reading and make it a daily habit. She mentioned also that she reads all times and she does not devote a certain time for reading, pointing out that her favorite book is “Naughty Diary” by Jamal al-Shehhi.

 

In July 2019, Mazna Najib was crowned as Champion of Arab Reading Challenge, in UAE after reading more than 50 books, in a variety of fields, as part of a knowledge competition with more than 455 thousand students participated from 1412 schools in 4th session of challenge. Muzna is currently preparing to participate in finals and represent UAE at best level.
