During their participation at the 68th Frankfurt Book fair, the International Publishers Association (IPA) announced the granting of full membership rights to three Arab countries, namely, Mauritania, Morocco and Iraq. These countries were chosen through members’ voting at the IPA General Assembly.
Founded in 1896 in Paris, IPA is an international publishing industry federation of national publisher associations representing book and journal publishing. A non-profit and non-governmental organisation, it is one of the oldest professional entities in the world. Based out of Geneva, Switzerland, it comprises more than 60 publishers’ associations from more than 50 countries from around the world, including the Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) founded in 2009.
