Themed ‘The Book is the Future of Transformation’, the fair comprised more than 500 Arab and international publishing houses, and celebrated the UAE as the guest of honour at this year’s edition, in recognition of its cultural achievements and contributions.

The fair curated about 80 cultural activities, including workshops, cultural and literary seminars, poetry readings, theatrical performances, discussion panels, book signing ceremonies and other workshops, activities and shows designed for children and young adults.

The latest event added to this year’s edition of the fair is ‘The Translation Marathon’, which engaged a host of amateurs and professional translators in translating at least 200 articles from Arabic into English and vice-versa, to stimulate translating Saudi culture and the kingdom’s heritage and traditions.
