The 12th Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival Kicked Off Wednesday

Organized by the Sharjah Book Authority, the 12th edition of the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, opened at the Expo Center Sharjah on Wednesday, May 19. With 172 publishers from 15 Arab countries and a galaxy of authors and artists, who provide children and adolescents with 537 specialized activities, the event is to last till May 29.

The festival witnesses the organization of the 9th edition of the Sharjah Children’s Book illustration Exhibition featuring 395 innovators from 50 countries: 106 from 15 Arab countries and 289 from 35 foreign countries. A series of events is also to be launched with 32 authors from 15 countries, who would enrich the knowledge of the young people through a wide range of face-to-face and virtual sessions.

The festival grants its visitors the opportunity to view the creative illustrations through the “comics” platform, which is expected to organize 132 artistic and entertainment workshops, in which many Arab and foreign specialists and artists will take part. In addition to some distinctive theatrical performances, 385 specialized and varied events and activities will also be presented by some expert elites.
