In a significant move to strengthen its position on the international stage, the Sharjah Literary Agency (SLA) has expanded its portfolio by 247 titles, featuring a selection of highly regarded works by renowned Arab and international authors. This addition advances SLA’s objective to amplify Arabic literature within the global sphere, cultivating a vibrant literary community that bridges cultures and celebrates diverse voices.

With an expanded list of 147 fiction and poetry titles from 42 eminent authors, SLA continues elevating Arabic literary talent. The new collection is led by prolific Libyan writer Ibrahim Al-Koni, who is celebrated for his profound works and Nobel Prize nomination. Alongside him are Egyptian novelist Khairy Shalaby, screenwriter Abdel Rahim Kamal, and a host of influential voices contributing to the international prominence of Arabic literature.

Furthering its mission, SLA has added 100 children’s titles, including several award-winning Arabic books promoting young readers’ creativity and intellectual growth. SLA’s recent international partnerships include a collaboration with a Greek publisher, allowing Emirati poets to reach new audiences and further showcasing the agency’s global influence.

Under the guidance of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, SLA remains committed to expanding its reach and redefining the role of Arabic literature globally by supporting authors and ensuring their intellectual rights. At the 2024 Sharjah Publishers Conference, SLA plans to reveal additional partnerships that will continue advancing Arabic literature’s impact.
