About Publisher

Dar Elfker Egamie Library was founded in 1975 and is a member of both the Egyptian Publishers Association and the Arab Publishers Association. It first specialized in publishing academic books, later focusing on legal works, and its publications have since exceeded more than a thousand titles. In the early years, there were no accurate statistics regarding the volume of publications.

In 1985, the current director, Mr. Magdy Kozman, took over management and worked on developing the quality and quantity of publications. Since 1992, the library has actively participated in many Arab book fairs, either directly or through representation. Its titles diversified, and it collaborated with specialized authors from across the Arab world and with numerous Egyptian and Arab universities.

The library later expanded its list to include fields not previously covered, such as political science, military studies, economics, and Islamic economics, while maintaining and developing its core structure to remain competitive with fellow publishers in the Arab world, especially in Lebanon and Jordan.

Looking ahead, Dar Elfker Egamie Library aims for further development in printing to match both Arab and international standards. Another line of focus is translation, a field largely absent in legal publishing due to its high costs and inherent risks. Legal translation in particular is especially complex, given the constant amendments to laws and legislations—especially in the Arab world and in Egypt.

The library also aspires to participate in many international book fairs under the umbrella of the Arab Publishers Association, in order to connect with international publishers and gain exposure to diverse cultures and global systems of printing and publishing.
