A non-governmental, non-profit organization concerned with the affairs of Arab theatre, was established on October 28, 2007 (17 Shawwal 1428), by an initiative from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. Its permanent headquarters and general secretariat are located in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
It is closely linked to the Arab Organization for Education, Culture, and Science.
Its highest president is His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council of the Union and ruler of Sharjah, may God protect and preserve him.
