Bologna, Italy

PublisHer, the dynamic global initiative founded by Bodour Al Qasimi to empower women in publishing, will host its first international PublisHer Lounge, at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair from 31 March to 3 April 2025.

Following successful editions at the Sharjah Booksellers Conference and Sharjah International Book Fair, the Bologna event marks PublisHer’s inaugural European appearance.

The PublisHer Lounge in Bologna will offer a comprehensive programme designed to foster leadership, entrepreneurship, and professional development among women in publishing.

Highlights include engaging panel discussions with international bookwomen on mentorship, trendsetting leadership, talent acquisition, and publishing innovation.

Sessions include ‘Mentorship and the Next Generation’, moderated by Emma House, exploring women’s leadership aligned with the Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality); and ‘Innovating Together’, showcasing young female founders who are reshaping the industry.

Accomplished speakers from around the world will share insights and ideas that women in publishing can draw on as they build their careers and take charge of their future.

PublisHer Founder Bodour Al Qasimi will give an opening address to emphasize the initiative’s evolution from fostering conversations to catalysing tangible change and equipping women with tools, skills, and confidence to lead.

Attendees can also participate in targeted workshops, exclusive mentorship opportunities with industry leaders, and professional photoshoots to enhance their personal brand.

This event underscores PublisHer’s dedication to building inclusive and empowering environments where women can thrive, collaborate, and lead.
