PRH Acquires Wonderbly

by | Jun 10, 2025 | News

Penguin Random House (PRH) has acquired UK-based independent publisher Wonderbly, a company known for its bestselling personalized gift books, in a move aimed at boosting PRH’s direct-to-consumer capabilities.

Since its launch in 2013, Wonderbly has sold over 11 million books in 140 countries. Its catalog spans more than 150 customizable titles designed for both children and adults, offering readers a deeply personal and engaging storytelling experience.

Over the years, Wonderbly has ventured into high-profile licensing partnerships, including a 2017 collaboration with the Roald Dahl estate to create a personalized version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In 2019, it launched Wonderbly Studios, a self-publishing platform for brands looking to create bespoke titles. One notable client is Wizarding World Digital, representing the globally beloved Harry Potter franchise.

Following the acquisition, PRH and Wonderbly will collaborate on developing new publishing initiatives to expand their reach and connect with broader audiences. Wonderbly will continue to operate independently within the PRH structure, with co-founder and CEO Asi Sharabi remaining at the helm from the company’s London headquarters.
