After his death in May, Philip Roth, a great American writer, left behind a legacy of creative literary work. The Newark Public Library has announced that it will shortly acquire a collection of 3,500 books and volumes of Roth’s works, who was a regular visitor to the library.

Roth, who was one of America’s most notable novelists in the second half of the 20th century, along with Saul Bellow and John Updike, had recommended that his important collections of books to be given to the Newark Public Library in recognition of its contribution and role in inspiring him to write some of his works.

Roth’s books will be featured in a special section designed by Henry Myerberg.
