In 1946, Haj Wahba Hassan Wahba established Wahba Bookstore for Publishing and Distribution. It began as a small shop on Mohamed Ali Street (now Al-Qalaa Street), near Al-Ataba.<\/p>\n

After being detained for a week in 1948, he moved the store in 1950 from Mohamed Ali Street to Gomhoria Street, keeping the same name and mission. During that time, he became acquainted with Sheikh Abu Al-Hasan Al-Nadwi, for whom he published What the World Lost Due to the Decline of Muslims<\/em> and Memoirs of a Traveler in the East<\/em>, among other works. He also connected with the esteemed Sheikh Sayyid Sabiq, for whom he published the multi-part book Fiqh al-Sunnah<\/em>.<\/p>\n

At the end of 1960, he was released from prison only to find the bookstore devastated. He restarted his work from scratch, as the bookstore had been neglected and no publications were released during his imprisonment. He resumed operations for a time, but more hardships followed, including another arrest in 1965 that lasted until the death of President Nasser.<\/p>\n

After his release in 1971, following Nasser\u2019s death, he began a struggle with the authorities to lift the restrictions placed on him and his family so he could resume his work. By divine fate, the building that housed the bookstore was demolished during his absence and a new one was being constructed on the same site\u2014almost as if destiny intended for Wahba Bookstore to remain in its original location. The new property owner agreed to rent him the store again, allowing him to relaunch his publishing and distribution mission under the same name, continuing the message he had sacrificed so much for.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
