Nama Center<\/strong> is a research institution dedicated to the writing, translation, and publication of studies in the fields of Islamic and human sciences. It was established in 2010 (1432 AH).<\/p>\n

Nama\u2019s focus revolves around research areas that contribute to the development of Islamic and human studies, and the integration between the two. The center works on enhancing analytical and critical practices, and deepening interdisciplinary research\u2014through both original works and translations\u2014on theoretical, practical, and critical levels. Its aim is to broaden intellectual horizons, improve levels of reading, reasoning, and analysis, and strengthen the effectiveness of research in the Arab and Islamic world.<\/p>\n

Through its mission, the center aspires to achieve a set of goals:<\/p>\n

  1. \n

    To build a moderate Islamic discourse that upholds the core principles of Sharia, promotes better understanding and persuasive communication of them, while demonstrating flexibility, skill, and etiquette in areas open to interpretation (ijtihad).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    To integrate religious and intellectual discourse into the dynamics and questions of development, and to consciously engage with global knowledge and contemporary experiences.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    To help cultivate scholarly leaders who are connected to developmental processes, who have a sound understanding and strong commitment to the principles of Sharia, and who are capable of understanding and critiquing contemporary intellectual trends.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    To foster positive and integrated communication with individuals and institutions engaged in intellectual and religious research across the Arab world.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
