De Hugh Thomson, qui r\u00e9alisa 160 dessins pour la premi\u00e8re \u00e9dition enti\u00e8rement illustr\u00e9e de Pride and Prejudice (Orgueil et Pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s) \u00e0 la fin du XIX\u1d49 si\u00e8cle, aux gravures sur bois \u00e9l\u00e9gantes de Joan Hassall pour les \u00e9ditions du Folio Society dans les ann\u00e9es 1950 et 1960, le parcours visuel est riche et vari\u00e9. S\u2019y ajoutent des esquisses du spectacle th\u00e9\u00e2tral de 1936 sign\u00e9 Helen Jerome, qui aurait contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 fa\u00e7onner la figure romantique de Darcy, annon\u00e7ant peut-\u00eatre les interpr\u00e9tations modernes \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L\u2019exposition co\u00efncide avec le lancement du festival Jane Austen \u00e0 Bath, c\u00e9l\u00e9bration de dix jours marqu\u00e9e cette ann\u00e9e par le 250\u1d49 anniversaire de la naissance de l\u2019\u00e9crivaine. Austen v\u00e9cut \u00e0 Bath entre 1801 et 1806, et l\u2019une de ses anciennes r\u00e9sidences se trouve \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 imm\u00e9diate du mus\u00e9e. Ses motifs raffin\u00e9s \u00e9voquent l\u2019univers des romans tout en dialoguant avec les codes graphiques actuels.
