Ce livre, qui a re\u00e7u le prestigieux Prix Goncourt, raconte la vie fictive de Fajr, une jeune femme ayant perdu sa voix apr\u00e8s avoir surv\u00e9cu \u00e0 une attaque islamiste. La plaignante, Saada Arbane, une survivante de la guerre civile alg\u00e9rienne, affirme que l\u2019h\u00e9ro\u00efne du roman partage des d\u00e9tails intimes de sa propre vie, notamment ses cicatrices, son tube vocal et sa relation avec sa m\u00e8re. Arbane explique qu\u2019elle avait refus\u00e9 que son histoire soit utilis\u00e9e apr\u00e8s une discussion avec Daoud il y a trois ans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kamel Daoud nie fermement ces accusations, affirmant que Houris est une \u0153uvre de fiction inspir\u00e9e des trag\u00e9dies g\u00e9n\u00e9rales v\u00e9cues en Alg\u00e9rie durant les ann\u00e9es 1990, mais qu\u2019aucune personne r\u00e9elle n\u2019a servi de mod\u00e8le direct.
