En tant que professeur \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 islamique de Gaza, Alareer a choisi de rester chez lui pour t\u00e9moigner de ce qu&rsquo;il observait, estimant que la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 d\u00e9passait de loin ce qui pouvait \u00eatre per\u00e7u sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cette perte a suscit\u00e9 une profonde tristesse, exprim\u00e9e par Mosab Abu Toha, po\u00e8te de Gaza, qui confie : \u00ab\u00a0Mon c\u0153ur est bris\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Originaire de Gaza, cet \u00e9crivain de 44 ans enseignait la litt\u00e9rature et la cr\u00e9ation litt\u00e9raire \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 islamique de Gaza. Il \u00e9tait \u00e9galement le cofondateur de l&rsquo;organisation We Are Not Numbers, qui favorisait la rencontre entre auteurs chevronn\u00e9s et jeunes \u00e9crivains \u00e0 Gaza, mettant en avant la puissance du r\u00e9cit comme moyen de r\u00e9sistance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alareer a dirig\u00e9 l&rsquo;\u00e9dition de deux recueils de nouvelles palestiniennes, \u00ab\u00a0Gaza Writes Back\u00a0\u00bb (2014) et \u00ab\u00a0Gaza Unsilenced\u00a0\u00bb (2015). Euro-Med Monitor a publi\u00e9 un communiqu\u00e9 laissant entendre qu&rsquo;Alareer aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9lib\u00e9r\u00e9ment vis\u00e9, indiquant que l&rsquo;appartement o\u00f9 r\u00e9sidait sa famille avait \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0chirurgicalement bombard\u00e9, \u00e9radiqu\u00e9 de l&rsquo;ensemble du b\u00e2timent\u00a0\u00bb, selon des t\u00e9moignages concordants de proches.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La trag\u00e9die s&rsquo;abat \u00e0 nouveau sur la famille, rappelant que son fr\u00e8re, Hamada, ainsi que le grand-p\u00e8re, le fr\u00e8re, la s\u0153ur et trois ni\u00e8ces de son \u00e9pouse Nusayba, avaient d\u00e9j\u00e0 p\u00e9ri lors de la campagne de bombardements isra\u00e9liens de 2014.
