The Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) is showcasing 262 titles from 21 Emirati publishers and EPA members through its Manassah platform at the 52nd edition of the Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF), which runs until July 15.

The UAE publishers participating at CIBF under the Manassah platform include: Bawabat Al Kitab Publishing & Distribution; Makarem; Al Riyada Publishing & Printing; Dar Maheroon; Dar Al Saif Publishing; Nabdh Al Qalam Books Publishing and Distribution; Dar Al Marefa Bookshop; Dreamwork Collective LLC; Writers House Publishing; Dar Hamaleel; Qahwa Publishing; Ashtar Publishing; Madar Publishing; Dar Al Ousra Media; Dragon Publishing and Distribution; Sadiqat Publishing and Distribution; Awraaq Publication and Distribution; Al Fulk Translation and Publishing; Dar Al Andalus Publishing; and Dar Suad Salibi.

Rashid Al Kous, Executive Director of EPA, said, “Since its launch, Manassah has been spotlighting new and emerging Emirati publishers at prominent international book fairs in the Arab region, as well as other parts of the world to network and explore partnership opportunities with their peers, translators, and with Arab and international libraries. We are very happy to showcase our local talent at the prestigious CIBF to introduce visitors on the rich and diverse literature our UAE publishers have on offer.”

He added: “We have discussed with CIBF organisers ways to further advance our participation in book fairs in both countries. We have also met with distributors to learn from their extensive experience and support our local publishing industry. Our pavilion at CIBF also highlights EPA’s programmes and initiatives, including the newly launched Publishers Training Programme which is focused on growing and strengthening the publishing industry in UAE and the wider region.“

During a tour of EPA’s pavilion, Mohamed Ahmad Rashad, President of the Arab Publishers’ Association hailed the Manasah platform, and gifted EPA a copy of The Reality of publishing in the Arab region between 2015 to 2019 study.

Said Abdo, President of Egyptian Publishing Association, visited EPA’s pavilion and discussed cooperation opportunities including training to conciding with the launch of Publishers Training Programme regionally.
