Dubai Ruler supports UAE School Libraries With One Million Books

by | Mar 14, 2018 | News

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has launched an initiative to provide school libraries with one million books. The aim of the initiative is to establish reading as a habit in the country and to support the country’s libraries.

The leading initiative coincides with the ‘Month of Reading 2018’, which is celebrated in March every year. It contributes to providing school libraries with an outstanding collection of books in culture, science and knowledge, and will go a long way in helping students realise their educational needs and aspirations across grades and stages. The initiative also furthers the ‘National Reading Strategy of the UAE’
(2016–26), which aims to firmly establish this civilised habit in society across generations.
