by | Oct 14, 2018 | News

For the third consecutive year, China successfully participated in Amman International Book Fair, which wrapped up in Amman recently. China efforts were successful in making the publications of Chinese publishing houses accessible to Arab readers. They, also, signed a series of agreements with Arab publishing houses on reproduction, translation and distribution rights.

Head of the Chinese Delegation to Amman International Book Fair and Chairman of Beijing Teachers University Publishing Group, said that Chinese publishing houses were keen to make their presence felt in the Arab world, with a 48-meter stand and over 1000 titles on display. He added that the Chinese publishers are studying what are the most interesting topics for Arab readers to make an informed decision on what to translate from Chinese into Arabic.

He added that participation in the previous years were only from the Beijing Teachers University Publishing Group, while many publishers participated this year with books on Chinese history and geography, Chinese language learning, stories, biographies, academic books and the Chinese Literature Classics.
