Morocco’s 23rd edition of the Casablanca International Publishing and Book Fair has strengthened its position as one of the nation’s leading cultural and literary activities of the year, with the participation of more than 700 exhibitors, and 100,000 books. Running until February 19, the event features exhibitors from 54 countries, with Morocco topping the list with 183, followed by France (112), and Egypt (93).

The 2017 edition, which celebrates Central African countries as the Guests of Honour, features a wide range of events and activities that highlight cultural and historical ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the 11 Central African countries. The 11-day fair offers more than 1,000 titles in Arabic, French, English and other languages and hosts the second edition of the Copyright Assignment Platform as a podium for the exchange of copyrights and translation rights.

On its closing day, the fair will host the awards ceremony of the Ibn Battuta Prize for Travel literature, presented by the Centre for Arabic Geographical Literature
