by | May 18, 2017 | News

The Publication Department at the New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) has recently published Popular Proverbs: An Entrance to Emirati Culture, by Nasser Isleem, a Senior Arabic Language Lecturer at NYUAD. He provides Arabic language teachers and learners with practical tools for incorporating Emirati culture into Arabic learning.

The book provides unique insights into life in the Gulf region, as well as local Emirati societies and cultures through common Emirati proverbs. A book like this highlights the importance of language as well as its role in everyday life and culture of the Arabs. Moreover, it represents that common thread of values and beliefs in the Emirati and larger Arab communities that runs across the world.
