by | Nov 20, 2024 | News

Kuwait’s 47th International Book Fair is currently captivating audiences, opening its doors on November 20 and running until November 30. The fair brings together 544 publishers from 31 Arab and foreign countries, offering a rich selection of books and cultural experiences.

Under the theme “The World in a Book,” the event celebrates the power of literature to bridge cultures and share knowledge. Aisha Al Mahmoud, Assistant Secretary-General for the Culture Sector at the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters (NCCAL), highlighted the fair’s role in fostering cultural understanding through books.

Visitors can enjoy more than 90 cultural activities, including panel discussions, workshops, and a dedicated children’s culture pavilion. The program also celebrates prominent Kuwaiti and Arab cultural figures, with a focus on their contributions to the region’s literary and artistic heritage.

One of the key highlights of this year’s fair is the honoring of Dr. Abdullah Al Ghunaim, a distinguished scholar from Kuwait University, as the event’s Personality of the Year. This recognition acknowledges his remarkable contributions to Kuwaiti culture and history.

The fair continues to attract large crowds, serving as a vibrant hub for literary enthusiasts, intellectuals, and families. The event promises to deliver even more engaging activities and opportunities for cultural exchange.
