2024 Kolkata Book Fair: United Kingdom Spotlight

The 47th Kolkata International Book Fair will take place at Central Park Mela Ground in India from January 18 to 31. A celebrated event in Kolkata, the fair attracts visitors from near and far. Attendees can explore a vast selection of books and magazines, choosing from rare, latest, and valuable collections at reasonable prices based on their preferences and budgets.

 

The theme for the 2024 edition is ‘The United Kingdom,’ and invited publishers include representatives from the US, France, Italy, Spain, Thailand, Bangladesh, Australia, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, and more.

 

Tridib Chatterjee from the Publishers and Book Sellers Guild revealed that the 2024 fair will feature 1,025 publication houses, an increase from the 950 participating publishers in 2023. Notable participants include Oxford University Press, Rupa, Penguin Random House, Harper Collins, Hachette, Bloomsbury, and Pan Macmillan.

 

In the previous edition, the sales exceeding Rs 250,000,000. The upcoming fair promises an even more exciting experience with a diverse mix of publications, works by both new and established authors, and a broad range of book genres and subjects.
