‘Bluebird’ suspends Brand’s Book amid Serious Allegations

by | Sep 21, 2023 | News

The publisher of one of Russell Brand’s books has announced the suspension of all future book releases by the comedian, following allegations of rape and sexual assault. Bluebird, an imprint of Pan Macmillan, which had plans to publish one of Brand’s books in December 2023, made the decision in response to the gravity of the accusations.

Brand’s yet-to-be-published book, titled “Recovery: The Workbook: A Practical Guide to Finding Freedom from Our Addictions,” serves as a sequel to his 2017 self-help book, “Recovery: Freedom from Our Addictions,” which is rooted in the principles of the 12-step program.

His literary journey began with the 2007 memoir “My Booky Wook,” published by Hodder & Stoughton, an imprint of Hachette. In 2014, Brand ventured into the realm of politics with “Revolution,” a book published by Arrow, an imprint of Penguin. Interestingly, the title remains listed on Penguin’s website.

A collaborative investigation in the UK by the Sunday Times, the Times, and Channel 4’s Dispatches has unveiled allegations from four women, claiming that Brand sexually assaulted them between 2006 and 2013. Brand has publicly denied these allegations through an online video statement.
